Below knee prosthetic covers
Below knee covers are designed for transtibial prostheses and extend from the socket to just above the prosthetic foot.
Each cover is individually tailored to the specific anatomy and prosthetic setup – restoring silhouette while allowing access to key components. No two prosthetic configurations are identical, and every cover is a reflection of that.
Design considerations & adaptations
Below knee covers are created through careful adaptations in fit, proportions and design to meet both functional needs and personal preferences.

Height & fit
Trimlines and overall height are tailored to the specific socket and/or suspension system, ensuring a precise fit. Height is also adapted to your individual preference.

Shape & volume
The shape is designed to balance symmetry and proportion with the opposite leg, if desired and when the prosthetic setup allows.
As a standard we apply a subtle circumference reduction of ~5%, when possible, to create a harmonious overall impression.

Prosthetic foot
Trimlines and clearance are adapted to the specific foot type, following the shape of the foot shell and allowing full range of motion.

Access to functional components
Cut-outs and design adjustments are made to provide easy access to valves, pin locks, heel adjustments and other functional elements, when needed.

Design integration
Once the functional adjustments are defined, the selected design is adapted to the final shape and proportions of the cover. Patterns and details are refined so the expression feels intentional and well balanced.

Materials & construction
Below knee covers are available in both hard and flexible material options.
Hard covers
- Produced in 3D-printed polyamide.
- Always created as two parts, with a front and back section.
- Parting lines placed along the medial and lateral sides.
Flexible covers
- Produced in 3D-printed TPU.
- Primarily designed as one-piece wrap covers.
- A single parting line positioned at the back
- Can also be made as a two-piece cover, if the design requires.

Design options
All our collection designs and fully custom options are available for below knee covers.
Mounting
Below knee covers are typically mounted using our standard click-on adapter system.
A slim aluminum adapter is secured around the prosthetic pylon, allowing the cover to click into place. Built-in adjustment options support alignment changes if needed, while a strap and button fasteners provide additional stability.
If the standard system is not suitable for a specific setup, alternative mounting solutions can usually be created.
