Choice · Identity · Self-Expression
Beyond function
For decades, medical devices such as prosthetics have been designed primarily around function – and rightly so. Restoring function matters.
But function alone is not the full story.
We believe prosthetics can and should represent something more: choice, identity and self-expression. Not something to hide, but something to own. Not just a replacement, but also a reflection of the person wearing it.
At the core of Anatomic Studios is this shift in perspective – that personal expression belongs alongside function in prosthetic design.

OUR STORY
Two different worlds. One shared purpose.
Anatomic Studios was founded at the intersection of personal design and clinical reality by Christian Veraeus and Emelie Strömshed.
The two met during a thesis project in 2015 – Emelie, with a background in design, product development and 3D-technology, and Christian, a prosthetist working clinically with upper and lower limb amputees.
Coming from different worlds, both saw the same frustration from different angles: prosthetic users had little influence over how their devices looked, with limited choice and cosmetic solutions that had barely evolved in decades. Clinics wanted to offer more – but often lacked the tools to do so.
Together, they set out to expand what prosthetic design could be.
And so, Anatomic Studios was born.

From idea to global practice
Over the past decade, Anatomic Studios has grown from an idea into an established Scandinavian design studio working with prosthetic users and clinics in more than 30 countries.
By developing our own design platform and refining digital tools and production processes, we have built a dependable way of working – one that supports clinics in everyday practice while keeping personal expression central to the user experience.
Our DNA
Craft, care & collaboration

Design with intention
We see prosthetic covers as part of personal style – something chosen and worn with purpose.
Our collections are carefully designed and curated across distinct style categories, offering a range from subtle to expressive, from minimal to statement. Alongside them, custom designs allow new patterns and personal ideas from our users to take form.
Every line, texture and pattern is shaped with intention – balancing aesthetics, material and anatomy in a way that should feel cohesive and considered.

Every detail counts
Much of what we do lives in the details – the surfaces you touch, the edges you notice, the proportions that simply feel right.
We design prosthetic covers that balance precision and personality. That balance is achieved through hands-on work and quiet focus – because it's often the smallest details and decisions that shape the overall experience.

Digital craft in practice
Behind each cover is a carefully developed digital workflow – built and refined over years.
From 3D scanning to modelling and production, technology supports precision and consistency, while allowing each cover to remain personal and tailored.
Technology supports our craft. It never replaces it.

Built through co-creation
Everything we create is shaped through dialogue.
Conversations with users.
Feedback from prosthetists.
Questions, testing, refinement.
We build and evolve together with the people who wear and work with our covers in everyday life.

Personal in every step
From first dialogue to final delivery, we handle each project with attention and respect.
We know that what we create is never just a product. It represents something personal – and that perspective guides all aspects of how we work.

Fashion for Everybody & Every Body
What started with prosthetic covers for legs has continued to evolve – expanding in scope but still grounded in the same purpose.
From the beginning, our hope and ambition have been to contribute to a broader understanding of who design is for – seeing different bodies and medical devices represented not only within clinical contexts, but as part of everyday life, culture and fashion.
With each new product, collection and feature, we continue working toward greater access to choice and self-expression, bringing personalized style to more people.
'Fashion for Everybody & Every Body' expresses that commitment and the direction we continue to build on.
