TIPS & TRICKS WHEN SCANNING

If details or components aren’t captured by the scanner, we recommend dressing or coloring the part of the prosthesis that disappears. A white tape, thin stocking or scanning spray usually works fine. To achieve the most accurate cover fit, it is important that the shape of the prosthetic components are visible in the scan. If dressing the prosthesis with a stocking, a few rubber bands or tape distributed around the prosthesis can get the stocking to follow the prosthetic silhouette tightly before scanning.

WHY DO WE NEED A SCAN OF YOUR PROSTHESIS?

We need a scan to enable the best possible fit against the unique shape of your prosthesis. We believe that a good fit to the prosthesis is an important part of the design experience.

HOW CAN I GET MY PROSTHESIS SCANNED?

Many prosthetic clinics offer the opportunity for 3D-scanning. Reach out to your prosthetist for advice regarding scanning options. There are also different applications depending on the mobile phone/tablet you are using. Please check what is available for your device. If you don´t have local possibilities for scanning or find any suitable application, don’t hesitate to contact us.
