If details or components aren’t captured by the scanner, we recommend dressing or coloring the part of the prosthesis that disappears. A white tape, thin stocking or scanning spray usually works fine. To achieve the most accurate cover fit, it is important that the shape of the prosthetic components are visible in the scan. If dressing the prosthesis with a stocking, a few rubber bands or tape distributed around the prosthesis can get the stocking to follow the prosthetic silhouette tightly before scanning.
